Bio


Ed Garden is chief investment officer and founding partner of Trian Fund Management. Founded in 2005 by Garden, Nelson Peltz and Peter May, Trian invests in underperforming and undervalued public companies and works with managers and boards of directors to create lasting shareholder value. Trian has facilitated change at Heinz, Tiffany, Cadbury, Kraft, Ingersoll-Rand, Wendy's, InterContinental Hotels, Lazard, State Street and Family Dollar. Garden serves on the boards of The Wendy's Company and Family Dollar Stores. Previously, Garden was vice chairman and a director of Triarc Companies, where he was also head of corporate development. Before joining Triarc, Garden was a managing director of Credit Suisse First Boston. At Credit Suisse, he managed relationships with several large private equity firms, executing financings through the issuance of bank debt, corporate bonds and equity capital, and providing advisory services. Previously, Garden was a managing director at BT Alex Brown. Garden holds a B.A. in economics from Harvard.
