Hilton Romanski is senior vice president and head of corporate development at Cisco Systems, where he is responsible for driving the company's mergers and acquisitions strategy and managing its $2 billion-plus venture capital investment portfolio. He has been responsible for nearly $20 billion in acquisitions in more than 40 deals, engineered Cisco's 2013 divestiture of the Linksys home networking business, and was the driving force behind many of the innovative financial structures now represented in Cisco's portfolio. More recently, he led Cisco's $2.7 billion acquisition of Sourcefire and the $5 billion acquisition of NDS. Romanski also led Cisco's mergers and acquisitions and investment entry into emerging markets in the 2000s, including China, India, Russia, Eastern Europe and Latin America. Earlier, he was an investment banker at JP Morgan in the firm's technology, media and telecom group and co-founded JPM's West Coast telecom practice. Romanski earned a B.A. from Columbia University and an M.B.A. from Stanford University.
