Jesse Brown is an award-winning journalist, broadcaster and humorist specializing in Social Media and Digital Rights and Responsibilities issues. As a regular contributor to CBC radio and television and as the host of TVO's internet affairs program Search Engine, he has become an influential observer and critic of online culture.

His satiric voice was first heard by Canadians on The Contrarians, his CBC radio show "about unpopular ideas that just might be right". Originally debuting on the CBC, his radio show Search Engine moved to TVO in the fall of 2009. The show has won international awards and has been recognized as one of iTunes Best Podcasts of the Year.

As a print journalist Jesse received a National Magazine Award for humour for his magazine column The Experiment which ran for two years in Saturday Night magazine. He has also written noteworthy articles for The Globe and Mail, The National Post, and Vice Magazine. During elections, he reports from the trenches on the Internet's impact on politics and the political process.

Recently Jesse put his expertise in Social Media into practice: he is a founder of the user-generated cartoon site Bitstrips, which in its first week online was described as "awesome!" by Wired Magazine. Bitstrips has been licensed by the Ontario Ministry of Education, and is being used to teach literacy.
