Often credited with bringing out the real artist in some of pop’s top vocalists, songwriter/producer Linda Perry is one of the most sought after names in music.

It was after Linda penned and produced eight tracks on Pink’s second effort for Artista, the ten-million plus selling, double Grammy-nominated “M!ssundaztood” that people in the industry really began to take notice. She followed this up by writing and producing four songs for Christina Aguilara’s RCA release “Stripped,” including the Grammy winning-Best Female Vocal Performance-chart-topping “Beautiful.” 2003’s number two songwriter in Billboard, Linda received a 2003 ASCAP Songwriter’s Award for most played song for “Get the Party Started.” The second song of Linda’s to receive a Grammy nod; “Beautiful” received three nominations for the 2004 Grammy Awards, including Song of the Year.

Most recently, you can hear Linda’s work tearing up the airwaves with the song “Watcha Waiting For?” from Gwen Stefani’s solo debut, a song she co-wrote with Gwen. She has also completed two songs for the forthcoming album by Enrique Inglesias as well as producing and writing Kelly Osbourne’s sophomore release.

In addition to her skills as a producer and writer, Linda is also an astute A&R person. Quick to recognize talent, she signed the British artist James Blunt to her newly formed record label Custard and produced the song “No Bravery” from the album entitled “Back to Bedlam.” The album, which just went to on the pop album charts in the UK and is due out in the US in early October 2005.

Prior to her current incarnation as writer/producer, Linda was a singer/songwriter, most notably for former Interscope Recording artists “4 Non Blondes.” Linda’s song, the early-90’s mega-hit “What’s Up,” catapulted the band into international success and helped their album “Bigger, Better, Faster, More,” sell seven million copies worldwide. In 1993, Linda was awarded Best New Female Vocalist in the Rolling Stone Reader’s Poll. She has toured with The Who, Aerosmith, Prince, Neil Young, and Pearl Jam, and she has appeared on Letterman, Conan O’Brien, the Billboard Music Awards, MTV, and England’s Top of the Pops. She has sung a duet with Roger Daltry at Carnegie Hall and her solo record for Interscope, “In Flight,” included a duet with Grace Slick.

She has already worked with some of the top recording artists of our time, and is scheduled to work with many more. We can expect to hear much great music in the future thanks to the unique talent of Linda Perry.
