Tracee Ellis Ross is the star of the new hit ABC comedy series Black-ish, which airs Wednesday nights after Modern Family. Ross is best known as the star of the hit sitcom, Girlfriends, which aired for eight seasons on the CW and can be seen in syndication throughout the US and the world. Her portrayal of “Joan Clayton,” has earned her seven NAACP Image Award nominations, including one win in 2007 for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series, one BET Comedy Award win, and two nominations for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series, a Women's Image Network (WIN) Award nomination for Best Comedy Series and two PRISM Award nominations for Outstanding Performance in a Comedy series. She also starred in and produced the BET series Reed Between the Lines, which won her a third NAACP Image Award.

Ross was also seen in the short film series FIVE, a collection of 5 short films which aired on Lifetime in October 2011. She appeared in Lili, directed by Alicia Keys and produced by Jennifer Aniston and Paula Wagner, among others. Other credits include turns in Love, Loss, and What I Wore on stage in New York and LA; guest starring roles on ABC's Private Practice, CBS' hit crime drama CSI, and HBO's LIFE Support with Queen Latifah; and feature films Hanging Up with Jennifer Connelly and Marcia Gay Harden, and Tyler Perry's Daddy's Little Girls. In the fall of 2013, Ross returned to the BET Network to co-host the popular award show, Black Girls Rock, with Regina King for the third televised installment.

Ross is a dedicated and passionate motivational speaker. She created and teaches “Taping Into Your Creative Well,” a workshop that encourages participants to discover and utilize their inner joy to keep their lives on course. She is also works closely with teenage girls by volunteering with Aviva Family and Children Services in Los Angeles and The Big Brother Big Sister Program where she has held self-esteem workshops nationwide. Ross was honored by The Los Angeles Urban League as “Volunteer of the Year” in 2004, and was the 2009 recipient of the Impact Award from the Aviva Organization.

Ross began her television career as the host of her own television show, Lifetime's The Dish, for which she was named a “Face to Watch” by The Los Angeles Times. She has written, produced, and performed in segments for cable shows, appeared as a series regular on MTV's sketch comedy The Lyricist Lounge Show, and guest starred or co-hosted in various other television programs, including cameos in the Kanye West videos “The New Workout Plan” and “Touch the Sky.”

As a model, Ross worked with highly regarded photographers in the fashion industry, including Herb Ritts, Peter Lindberg, Francesco Scavullo and Mario Testino. She has graced the pages of top fashion and consumer magazines, including Harper's Bazaar, Essence, Mirabella, and Life, to name a few. She has also appeared in advertising campaigns for The Gap, Donna Karan Collection, DKNY and Paul Mitchell. In 2012, the fashion influencer expanded her vast digital influence by launching her official website Traceeellisross.com. The lifestyle site utilizes Ross' unique cross-cultural and joyful point of view to inspire the soul, body and mind of her followers.
