Scott is a Junior Fellow at the Harvard Society of Fellows, an Affiliate of the Harvard Center of Mathematical Sciences and Applications, an Associate of the Harvard Center for Research on Computation and Society, a Research Scientist at the Harvard Program for Evolutionary Dynamics, and a Research Economist at the National Bureau of Economic Research. From 2011-2013, he was the inaugural Research Scholar at the Becker Friedman Institute for Research in Economics at the University of Chicago.

He completed his PhD in Business Economics at Harvard University in Spring 2011, with the dissertation "Matching Models of Markets." Before that, he graduated from Harvard summa cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa in Mathematics (with a minor in Ethnomusicology) in Spring 2009, and completed his Masters of Arts at Harvard in Spring 2010.

He is co-leader of the Human Capital and Economic Opportunity "Inequality: Measurement, Interpretation, and Policy" working group (MIP).

In Summer 2011, he served as Head Tutor of the Harvard Program for Research in Markets and Organizations (PRIMO). During graduate school, he served as a non-resident tutor in my undergraduate house, Kirkland. He was also an affiliate of the Harvard Institute for Quantitative Social Science, the Harvard EconCS Group, and the John M. Olin Center for Law, Economics, and Business.
