A.J. Finn is an American author, born in New York. Finn is a pseudonym for Daniel Mallory. He is a former book critic and has written for such publications as the Los Angeles Times, the Washington Post, and the Times Literary Supplement. He is an executive editor for William Morrow.

Mallory worked for several years in London at Sphere Books, an imprint of Little, Brown and Company. He wrote "The Woman in the Window," his first novel, while living in New York and working as a vice president and executive editor at publisher William Morrow and Company. It debuted at number one on the New York Times Best Seller list and has been adapted into a feature film starring Amy Adams and Gary Oldman. The film was originally set for a theatrical release in May 2020 but it was postponed for a Netflix release in 2021.
