A Place to Bury Strangers

New York–based Noise Rock Band Composed of Oliver Ackermann (guitar/vocals), Dion Lunadon (bass guitar) and Robi Gonzalez (drums)

A Place to Bury Strangers is a Brooklyn–based noise rock band composed of Oliver Ackermann (guitar/vocals), Dion Lunadon (bass guitar) and Robi Gonzalez (drums). The band plays a heavy, atmospheric wall of sound-influenced blend of psychedelic rock, shoegaze and space rock.

After several years spent touring in and around New York City, in 2006 the band handmade three different untitled EPs with different color schemes which later become known as the “Red,” “Blue” and “Green” EPs. In 2007, Jon Whitney from Killer Pimp Records wrote on a napkin the contract for their first album, “A Place to Bury Strangers.”

In early 2009, APTBS signed to Mute Records and their second album, “Exploding Head,” was released in October 2009. “In Your Heart” was released as the first single and “Keep Slipping Away” was released as the second single.

Their third album, “Worship,” was released in June 2012 via the Dead Oceans record label. The album was self-produced by the band.
