Dr. Aaron Andalman is a computational neuroscientist-turned- entrepreneur who has a deep understanding of both biological and artificial neural networks. He is the co-founder and Chief Science Officer of Cognitiv, where he leads a team of machine learning scientists to develop custom algorithms for clients based on the latest advances in deep learning and machine intelligence.

Prior to Cognitiv, Dr. Andalman was a Helen Hay Whitney Fellow at Stanford University, developing advanced computational microscopy methods to better understand learning and memory. He has a Ph.D. in Neuroscience from M.I.T. and a B.S. in Computer Science from Stanford. His research on learning in neural systems has been published in prestigious scientific journals, such as Cell, Science, and Nature, and he has been recognized with national and international awards, including Amazon's AWS in Education Research Grant Award and the Capranica Prize in Neuroethology issued by the International Society for Neuroethology.
