Co-Founder & President at Supernatural & Within; Former Leader of the Data Arts Team at Google

Aaron Koblin is a graphic designer, programmer, and media artist known for his expertise in information visualization. His artwork uses real-world and community-generated data to reflect on cultural trends and the changing relationship between humans and the systems they create. Koblin's innovative use of data visualization has led him to work on numerous projects related to data visualization and interactive art.

Koblin is co-founder and president of Within, a virtual and augmented reality company focused on defining these new mediums of immersive creativity. He is also co-founder and president of Supernatural, which is described as a fitness journey in virtual reality and has been acquired by Meta. Prior to Within, he created and led the Data Arts Team at Google from 2008 to 2015. An artist, Koblin was the Abramowitz Artist in Residence at MIT in 2010. His artwork is part of the permanent collection of the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York, the Victoria & Albert Museum (V&A) in London, and the Centre Pompidou in Paris. His projects, such as The Johnny Cash Project, This Exquisite Forest, Radiohead's House of Cards music video, and The Wilderness Downtown, have been shown at international festivals, including TED, Sundance, Tribeca Film Festival, Ars Electronica, SIGGRAPH, and the Japan Media Arts Festival.

Koblin is an alumnus of UCLA School of the Arts and Architecture, where he received an MFA in Design and Media Arts. He has been recognized with numerous awards for his work in graphic design and information visualization, including the Smithsonian Cooper-Hewitt National Design Award for Interaction Design, the National Science Foundation's award for science visualization, and in 2014, he was awarded the National Design Award for Interactive Design. He has also been named one of Creativity Magazine's Creativity 50, Esquire Magazine's Best and Brightest, Fast Company's Most Creative People in Business, and Forbes magazine's 30 under 30. In 2014, he received an Emmy, and two of his music video collaborations were nominated for Grammy.
