Adam Driver is an actor and the recipient of numerous accolades, including a Volpi Cup, and has received nominations for two Academy Awards, four Primetime Emmy Awards, and a Tony Award. Notably, he has received multiple nominations for his performances in BlacKkKlansman and Marriage Story.
A former Lance Corporal in the United States Marine Corps, Driver made his Broadway debut in "Mrs. Warren's Profession" in 2010 and subsequently appeared in "Man and Boy." His rise to prominence came with a supporting role in the HBO comedy-drama series "Girls," which aired from 2012 to 2017, earning him three consecutive Emmy nominations. In addition to his work on television, Driver has hosted "Saturday Night Live" four times.
Driver's film career began in supporting roles in films such as Lincoln, Frances Ha, Inside Llewyn Davis, and Silence. He garnered the Volpi Cup for Best Actor for his lead role in the drama Hungry Hearts and starred in Paterson, for which he received the Los Angeles Film Critics Association Award for Best Actor. Other notable performances include his roles in Logan Lucky, The Report, and Midnight Special.
Driver gained wider recognition for playing Kylo Ren in the Star Wars sequel trilogy, a performance that was positively received and lauded as the best in the series. In 2019, he returned to theater with "Burn This," for which he was nominated for the Tony Award for Best Actor in a Play. His further acclaimed performances in BlacKkKlansman and Marriage Story earned him consecutive Academy Award nominations.
In addition to his acting career, Driver is the founder of Arts in the Armed Forces, a nonprofit that provides free arts programming to active-duty service members, veterans, military support staff, and their families around the world.
Driver continued to expand his filmography with roles in Leos Carax's musical drama Annette, Ridley Scott's The Last Duel and House of Gucci, and the Netflix movie White Noise. In 2023 he starred in the science fiction film 65, Jeff Nichols' historical film Yankee Commandante, and Michael Mann's biopic Ferrari.
