Adam Housley joined Fox News Channel (FNC) in 2001 and serves as a Los Angeles-based correspondent.
Most recently, Housley reported live on the shooting at the Los Angeles International Airport (LAX), the suspension of New York Yankees third baseman Alex Rodriguez and the aftermath of the deadly crash of Asiana Airlines Flight 214 live from the San Francisco Airport (SFO). In April 2013, he secured an exclusive interview with a Special Operations whistle-blower who felt the government betrayed the four men who died in the Benghazi attacks on September 11th. Previously, he covered the 2012 wildfires in Waldo Canyon, Colorado, the 2011 Tōhoku earthquake and tsunami in Japan, the 2010 earthquake in Haiti and reported in both English and Spanish during the Chilean Miners rescue in 2010. While at FNC, he has covered several hurricanes, including Katrina and Rita.
During his tenure, Housley was the first American reporter to provide live streaming video reports from Venezuela during the protests against President Hugo Chavez in 2009 and was also the first reporter allowed on a U.S. warship (USS Erie) during a defense missile launch in Hawaii in 2007. In 2006, he reported from Nicaragua and El Salvador on the war against drugs and secured an exclusive interview with Sandinista leader, Daniel Ortega. He was also one of the few reporters selected to witness the execution of Stanley ‘Tookie’ Williams at San Quentin State Prison in 2005. Additionally, he provided extensive live coverage from Thailand during the wake of the Southeast Asia tsunami tragedy in 2004 and reported internationally during Operation Iraqi Freedom from Kuwait, Iraq, Bahrain and the Persian Gulf. Housley covered the war on terror from Pakistan, Israel, the West Bank and Gaza Strip and was also FNC’s lead reporter for Arnold Schwarzenegger’s 2003 campaign.
Prior to joining FNC, Housley served as a reporter for KTXL-TV in Sacramento, California from 1999-2001, where he received an array of awards including the 2001 Regional Associated Press Reporting Award and a Regional Emmy Award. In addition, he was the lead reporter for KFTY-TV, an independent station in Santa Rosa, California, from 1998-2000. Before that, Housley was a live reporter for KCPM-TV in Chico, California from 1997-98, where he won a Department of Forestry Award for assisting in the capture of a wanted arsonist. He began his career as a reporter for KVON-AM radio in Napa, California, where he developed and produced newscasts. Prior to his career in television, Housley played professional baseball and was drafted by the Montreal Expos and played for both the Milwaukee Brewers and the Detroit Tigers organizations. He was a Junior Olympic baseball All-American in 1988.
Housley received his B.A. in both political science and telecommunications from Pepperdine University. He is also a two time media fellow at Stanford University.
