Adam Lubinsky

Managing Principal at WXY Architecture + Urban Design

Trained as both an architect and urban planner, Adam’s portfolio includes large-scale master plans, from London to New York to Detroit, focused on reimagining industrial zones, waterfronts, transportation and infrastructure to bring about sustainable and resilient communities. In 2011 he joined WXY architecture + urban design as managing principal to advance the studio’s multidisciplinary practice, which was recently named Firm of the Year by the New York State American Institute of Architects.

While in London, Adam directed several master plans in the Thames Gateway area, Europe’s largest regeneration project, stretching 40 miles along the Thames estuary. In New York, Adam has led a number of plans, such as the Brooklyn Tech Triangle, an urban economic development effort that involves numerous stakeholder organizations from downtown Brooklyn, the Brooklyn Navy Yard and DUMBO, the epicenter of Brooklyn’s tech economy. By forging ongoing partnerships with government and non-governmental agencies such as the New York State Energy Research Agency, Adam creates policies and strategic plans for mixed-use developments through innovative approaches to infrastructure and land use.

He is currently a board member of the New Partners for Community Revitalization and is visiting faculty at Cornell, NYU, and The New School. Adam has a Ph.D. in planning from University College London and a Master’s in Architecture from Columbia University.
