Adam Milgram  

Adam is recently retired as the Executive Director of the Sam and Rose Stein Institute for Research on Aging at the University of California, San Diego.

Since leaving UCSD, Adam has devoted his energy in developing a private practice as a speaker, consultant and guide in human relations and the aging process.

Adam’s education has been in Clinical Psychology and Group Processes and Organizational Development. He received his B.A. and M.A degrees in Psychology from Temple University, Philadelphia, PA, and is ABD in Educational Psychology, Group Dynamics.

Adam was a licensed psychologist and practicing psychotherapist in Pennsylvania for 20 years engaging in individual, family and group psychotherapy. As an Assistant Professor at the Philadelphia Community College, he taught Psychology and Counseling courses. During this time, he was also a consultant for business and non-profit organizations in organizational development. He previously served as the Chief Psychologist at a maximum security state correctional institution, and has consulted with other correctional systems as well as serving as an expert witness in competency and drug and substance abuse issues.

Adam is a student of mysticism and spirituality and has read and practiced widely in this area. Throughout the past 25 years, he has integrated his experience and understanding of psychology with his experience and understanding of spirituality.

His present focus is on awakening in life and conveying this psycho-spiritual process through individual guidance, public lectures and workshops and in his writings. His strong desire is to inspire people to actualize their inherent potentials and realize their highest ideals while facing the challenges and opportunities that life presents with courage and optimism.
