Adam Michael Rodríguez is an American actor, producer, screenwriter, and director, who initially gained fame for his role as Eric Delko on "CSI: Miami."
Born in Yonkers, New York, of Puerto Rican and Cuban descent, Rodriguez initially pursued a career in professional baseball, but after a high school injury, he shifted his focus to acting. He started in children's theater and auditioned for a role on "The Cosby Show" at the age of ten. Rodriguez left school and sought work as an actor, taking on various jobs, including positions at a New York brokerage firm and as a real estate agent. His significant break came when his father reconnected him with an old friend, Bill Clark, a supervising producer for "NYPD Blue," leading to his casting in a guest-starring role on the show.
Rodriguez has expanded his acting repertoire beyond "CSI: Miami" with roles in a variety of television series. He starred in the HBO series "The Real Magic Mike," a spin-off of Steven Soderbergh's original hit film, and played 'Special Agent Luke Alvez' in the "Criminal Minds" revival on Paramount+. Additionally, Rodriguez has appeared in notable roles in series such as NBC's drama "Ordinary Joe," where he portrayed a charismatic congressman, and in Showtime's "Penny Dreadful: City of Angels" as 'Raul Vega,' a union leader. He has also appeared in Tyler Perry's film "I Can Do Bad All By Myself" and the CBS movie "A Christmas Proposal."
Rodriguez's versatility extends to his involvement in various television series such as "Ugly Betty," "Jane the Virgin," "One Day At A Time," and "Empire." Furthermore, he participated in "Yes We Can," a campaign song for Barack Obama's 2008 presidential campaign, showcasing his engagement with meaningful community and cultural efforts.
Currently, Rodriguez divides his time between New York, Los Angeles, and Puerto Rico. His diverse roles and contributions to television and film, combined with his dynamic speaking style, make him a knowledgeable and engaging speaker, well-suited for a range of event themes and industries.
