Adam Sager is the Founder and CEO of Outland, a new type of company that places security experts at the nexus of technological innovation and business improvement to overhaul security solutions that have remained all but stagnant for the past 25 years.

Sager has worked in the security industry for over fifteen years in different capacities. He started with the Israeli defense forces and then migrated to founding a non-profit startup in the security sector and doing consulting for Fortune 100 companies developing security infrastructure programs. When he started to look into home security, he found a gap in the existing market. He found that all the security out there was either integrated—meaning you pay somebody lots of money to put sensors all over your house—or very simplistic, like only having one sensor. Neither of those really solved the problem that he wanted solved. When he looked in stores, he did not find any consumer-focused security systems. Thus, he started Canary, a groundbreaking consumer IoT solution that sold over $100M of products in 40 countries.

As a seasoned pioneer in security technology contemplating the future of innovation after his exit from Canary, Sager was shocked to find that the cutting edge engineering he’d taken for granted in the IoT space was all but missing in most enterprise security solutions. He founded Outland to fill the innovation void within the enterprise security industry with a new approach: bringing leading builders and operators from the public and private sectors together with proven technologists to bridge the gap between frontier engineering, core business needs, and a growing, changing risk landscape.
