Adam Serwer

Staff Writer at The Atlantic

Adam Serwer is the deputy editor of the Politics & Policy team at the Atlantic.

In his role, Serwer provides critical analysis of the constant twists and turns of American politics and is one of the foremost thinkers in media who quickly and precisely can make sense of what's happening around us.

He began his role as a senior editor at The Atlantic in July 2016 and has since written dozens of in-depth critical essays for the magazine. In 2018, he has relentlessly criticized the Trump administration and its policies, provided excellent analysis of white nationalists in America, and has unpacked the developments around the FBI, the Justice Department and the ever-changing status of the Paul Manafort-Michael Cohen corruption case. Serwer also wrote perhaps the best critical essay of Black Panther's Erik Killmonger.

Previously, Serwer was the national editor at BuzzFeed. Serwer’s pre-BuzzFeed roles included stints as a reporter at MSNBC and Mother Jones.
