Celebrity Landscaper & TV Host of DIY's Yard Crashers, Blog Cabin, Turf War

Early on, at the age of 10, Ahmed discovered his love of gardening and working outdoors. Ahmed’s love of landscaping paved the way to a successful career as one of today’s most sought‐after Celebrity Landscape professionals and Green Industry Experts. Ahmad Hassan, who began spelling his name with an “e” for phonetic reasons as a TV host, is a self‐taught landscape designer that began working as a professional maintenance gardener at the age of 15. In 1999, upon becoming a father, Ahmed began his municipal landscape maintenance career for the City of Redwood City for 8 years. Ahmed’s rural roots, mixed with inner city upbringing, has given him a unique ability to relate to people from all walks of life.

In 2007 he began hosting gardening shows for DIY Network. Having been featured on several episodes of HGTV’s “Landscape Smart”, Ahmed was pursued to become a network host for its sister network DIY (Do‐It‐Yourself) Network. In 2008 he and his team surprised homeowners & viewers alike with custom landscapes & upgraded homes through blitz style makeovers on DIY Network’s “Yard Crashers”. Ahmed notably not only hosted, but his team was part of physically creating the show's amazing transformations. Following a series of hosting stints for numerous DIY Network shows including, “The Dirt On…,” “Green Me Up” and “Blog Cabin,” the network created the Yard Crashers series around Ahmed’s authentic high energy, motivational spirit, his love of people and beautiful outdoor spaces.

Each week for the next 5 years, millions of viewers were charmed by his engaging personality and unique style of education blended with entertainment. Spawned from the show's popularity, the “Crashers” brand and format was born with spin‐off shows “House Crashers”, “Bath Crashers”, “Room Crashers” and “Kitchen Crashers”. Ahmed also hosted two seasons of the landscape competition show, “Turf War” on DIY Network. Landscape gardening had never been showcased in a way that was so exciting to watch on television.

Ahmed also co‐hosted and consulted for “The Nate Berkus Show” where he led the residential landscape design for Monica “Warrior Mom” Jorge’s house for Oprah Winfrey.

He also co‐hosted HGTV’s live coverage of the 2011 Tournament of Roses Parade. He regularly serves as guest contributor for both “CBS Early Show” and NBC’s “Today Show”. He is a guest columnist for several industry publications and HGTV magazine.

In 2013 Ahmed began shooting web and promotional videos for various Green Industry companies. He regularly travels the country as the featured celebrity guest at home and garden shows, hosting workshops and teaching in speaking engagements. As a philanthropist, he organized and developed “Sustainable Heroes”, to partner with other green industry professionals and support charitable organizations in building outdoor living spaces and gardening projects nationwide. Maintaining his captive audience, he regularly engages with his 37K+ fans on Facebook, 17K+ Twitter fans, and thousands on Instagram, who daily comment on wanting to see more gardening shows and for his return to television.

With over 30 years of experience, he is a California licensed Landscape Contractor (C‐27), Certified Horticulturalist and PLANET Certified Landscape Maintenance Technician. He currently owns and operates Ahmad Hassan Landscape Services (AHLS) a landscape consulting, design, and construction firm in the greater Sacramento & San Francisco East Bay Areas. Ahmed is a proud father of 3. Julian 21, Faith 18, and Camille 15 and he resides in Northern California’s Foothills.
