Sterling Professor of Immunobiology at Yale University School of Medicine; Investigator of Howard Hughes Medical Institute
Akiko Iwasaki serves as a Sterling Professor of Immunobiology and Molecular, Cellular and Developmental Biology at Yale University. Also a principal investigator at the Howard Hughes Medical Institute, her work extends across a wide array of research interests, including innate immunity, autophagy, inflammasomes, sexually transmitted infections, and respiratory virus infections. Among her notable contributions is her extensive research on COVID-19 and long COVID-19, positioning her as a notable expert in the field. Iwasaki's contributions to her field have been recognized by numerous institutions.
