Akshay Kapoor is a Partner in McKinsey’s New York office. Akshay leads McKinsey’s Mortgage Practice in North America. and has ~14+ years of experience in serving banks and non-bank finance institutions, across a host of housing finance related topics, including: strategy and operations, digitization, frontline capability building, productivity enhancement and risk and compliance.

Akshay has specialized in the financial industry and mortgage area – most recently being involved in client engagement that improved mortgage fulfillment productivity by streamlining processes and creating a mind-set shift at the front-line level and establishing a structured cadence to drive performance.

Akshay holds a Bachelor's degree with first class, in Engineering from Delhi College of Engineering, Delhi and an MBA, with distinction, from Ross School of business. He has also authored several papers, including McKinsey’s Global Banking Report and has led and organized multiple roundtables for the firm to date including the first U.S. Regional Bank CEO Roundtable and Mortgage roundtables.
