Beginning his career at only 16, Chef Alain Ducasse is now a worldwide culinary phenomenon. He has earned twenty one stars from the Michelin Guide during his 40 year career, making him one of only two chefs to achieve this accomplishment. He has owned twenty five restaurants in eight countries, and is recognized as the first chef to own restaurants carrying three Michelin stars in three cities, one of these being his critically acclaimed Alain Ducasse located in the 5-star resort in London, The Dorchester.

Chef Ducasse has taken his talents outside of the restaurant industry by opening several inns and hotels as well as a culinary publishing house, culinary schools, and culinary institute. The Ducasse Institute is located in Paris, France and the executive chef is Chef Philippe Gollino. He has written and published books like Nature: Simple, Healthy, and Good, Grand Livre de Cuisine, Ducasse Flavors of France, and his world famous Alain Ducasse Culinary Encyclopedia.

Over the course of his career, Chef Ducasse has won many awards including the lifetime achievement award he received in 2013 by The World’s 50 Best Restaurants Awards for pushing the boundaries of excellence in cooking over a 30-year career. Past winners include American chefs Alice Waters and Thomas Keller, Italian chef Gualtiero Marchesi, and French chefs Joel Robuchon, Paul Bocuse, and Albert and Michael Roux.

In 2012, Chef Alain Ducasse was asked by the US version of the television series MasterChef as one of the world’s top-rank culinary geniuses to be a guest judge in the final week of the competition. Chef Ducasse appeared on the episode alongside the show’s celebrity chef judges Gordon Ramsay, Joe Bastianich, Graham Elliot, and fellow guest judges Guy Savoy and Daniel Boulud. Alain has been a special guest on the Italian version of MasterChef as well.
