Alan is a consultant delivery manager of 15 years. After spending the early part of adulthood finding his way, Alan finally realised that the right path for him was a life of adventure. He started off racing motorcycles at club level, then decided he wanted bigger challenges and first took part in Ironman Nice, followed by a solo, unsupported row across the Atlantic in 2014/2015. He is now preparing for a solo trek on horseback from Europe to Mongolia and then spending some time with the local tribes there. His preparations include learning to hunt using bow and arrow, bush craft for living off the land, and learning how to ride and looking after horses. He aims to set off in spring 2018, and taking up to 2 to 3 years to complete the journey.

Alan feels very fortunate to be able to follow his passions and live his dreams. With this in mind, he hopes to be able to more people and help them take action to living their dreams. Alan also supports a small UK charity, Children On The Edge, a charity that helps children from marginalised backgrounds across the globe.
