Emmy Award-Winning Screenwriter, Producer & Actor Known for "Parks and Recreation" and "Master of None"

Alan Yang is an Emmy Award-winning screenwriter, producer, and actor. He is known for his work on "Parks and Recreation," Date and Switch, and "Master of None."

While working on "Parks and Recreation," he met actor and comedian Aziz Ansari. The two co-created the Netflix show "Master of None" which premiered in 2015. The show earned four Emmy nominations and Yang and Ansari won the Emmy for Outstanding Writing for a Comedy Series. They also won a Peabody Award in 2016.

Yang has also written for NBC's "The Good Place." In 2018, he co-created the Amazon Video series "Forever." In 2020, Tigertail, a movie loosely based on his upbringing, was released on Netflix.

Yang was born and raised in Riverside, California, by Taiwanese immigrants. He studied biology at Harvard University, graduating at age 19.
