Alex Altomare is CEO and co-founder of BetaBlox, a seed accelerator and business incubator based in Kansas City, MO. BetaBlox specializes in adding value to high-growth ventures during formative and early stages of development. Since making his first investment at the age of 12, he now holds equity in more than 30 start-up companies.

In addition, he currently serves on the board of directors for the Altomare Foundation, a nonprofit focusing on education and childhood obesity.

His consulting and management experience include the automotive, medical, and fitness industries. Altomare has published works in the fields of genetics and astrobiology, and was selected as an inaugural lecturer to the joint NASA – DARPA project, 100 Year Starship.

Altomare is an alumnus of Rockhurst High School and Loyola Marymount University, with degrees in Biology and Physics. He has won awards in academics, music, teaching, creative design, athletics, and leadership. He is a certified ski instructor, lover of the Kansas City Zoo, and an avid member of the Kansas City YoYo Club.
