Alex Chika Ezeh, PhD, MSc, is executive director of the African Population & Health Research Center in Nairobi, Kenya, and honorary professor of public health at the University of the Witwatersrand, South Africa. He has more than 25 years of experience working in the population and public health fields and has authored numerous scientific publications covering a broad range of fields, including population and reproductive health, urban health, health metrics, and education. Dr. Ezeh directs the Consortium for Advanced Research Training in Africa, a multi-country initiative to strengthen the training and retention of academics at African universities in the population and public health fields. He currently serves on the boards and committees of several international public health organizations, including the International Union for the Scientific Study of Population, the Alliance for Health Policy and Systems Research, and the Institute of Medicine and National Research Council. Dr. Ezeh holds an MSc degree from the University of Ibadan in Nigeria and a PhD from the University of Pennsylvania in the United States.
