Alex Moffat is a New York-based actor, stand-up and writer who has garnered praise for his hilarious impressions on "Saturday Night Live," including Eric Trump and Mark Zuckerberg, as well as original characters such as Guy Who Just Bought a Boat in the "Weekend Update" and Film Critic Terry Fink.
An alum of the popular SNL incubator Second City — where Bill Murray, John Belushi and Tina Fey got their start, just to name a few — Moffat hails from Chicago, where he was a regular performer at iO and the Annoyance Theatre, as well as an official acro-dunker for the Chicago Bulls. He can be seen on Showtime’s "Billions," Netflix’s "Someone Great" and the 2015 feature "Uncle John." You can hear him as the voice of Jimmy in Disney’s animated sequel "Wreck-It Ralph 2: Ralph Breaks the Internet" as well as Sandy Calabasas in Netflix’s animated series "F Is for Family." Moffat will next appear in the upcoming live-action feature "Clifford," the independent comedy "Dating in New York" and Netflix’s "Holidate."
On stage, Moffat performed a one-man show called Good Little Winnetka Boy, in which he “digs deep to uncover the many characters who live in a small village at the center of his brain.”
Moffat also starred in a Sherlock Holmes musical inspired by Jack the Ripper, called Ripper the Musical, with the Chicago Tribune describing his performance as “funny and believable as a three-dimensional character who seems to be wandering through the cartoony parameters of the show.”
He had a weekly show in which he interviewed comedians such as Tom Green, called El Show With Alex Moffat. Most notably, he’s appeared in a slew of shorts on Funny or Die. Moffat also co-starred in the 2015 indie film Uncle John. On the December 19, 2020 episode hosted by Kristen Wiig, Moffat appeared in the cold open playing President-elect Joe Biden, taking over the role from Jim Carrey.
