Alexander Torrenegra is a Colombian-American entrepreneur, inventor, and investor best known as the founder and CEO of Torre, a global work-matching network. Founded in 2019, Torre aims to make the process of finding work and talent transparent and automated, enabling everyone to find fulfilling work opportunities. In 2021, Torre secured a $10 million seed round led by former executives from Apple, Facebook, Uber, and SpaceX, marking a significant milestone for the company.

Prior to Torre, Torrenegra founded multiple companies, starting with the co-founding of Torrenegra Labs in 2000. He then co-founded and bootstrapped Voice123 in 2002, the first and largest global marketplace for voice-overs with over 200,000 voice actors and 100,000 buyers. Since its establishment, Torrenegra has been a strong advocate of remote work and has consistently worked with remote teams. He co-founded Bunny Studio, a mission-critical outsourcing solution for creative work, in 2012 with his wife, Tania Zapata. The couple later sold Voice123 to Backstage and TA Associates. In 2018, Torrenegra co-founded Tribe, a remote-first video communication platform, further demonstrating his commitment to promoting remote work.

Known for his innovative approach, Torrenegra holds multiple patents related to the dynamics of two-sided marketplaces. In 2012, he was recognized by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), being featured in their list of Innovators Under 35. He was given the High-Impact Entrepreneur title by Endeavor in 2013 and was named Young Global Leader by the World Economic Forum in 2015.

Torrenegra has not only been successful in founding and scaling businesses but also as an investor. He has angel-invested in over 20 tech companies alongside his wife, Zapata. In 2017, he began his tenure as one of the "shark" investors on Sony's reality television series, Shark Tank Colombia. His entrepreneurial journey and advocacy for remote work have been documented in his authored book "Remoter: the why-and-how guide to building successful remote teams."
