Professor of Psychology, Animal Behavior, and Canine Cognition; Bestselling Author of "Inside of a Dog: What Dogs See, Smell and Know"

Dr. Horowitz is a Senior Research Fellow, adjunct Associate Professor, and head of the Dog Cognition Lab at Barnard College, Columbia University. In her research she studies the behavior and mind of owned dogs. She has written four books, including “Inside of a Dog: What Dogs See, Smell, and Know”, a New York Times bestseller, “Being a Dog: Following the Dog into a World of Smell”, and, most recently, “Our Dogs, Ourselves: The Story of a Singular Bond”. She lives with her husband, son, and three highly sniffy dogs (and one dog-like cat) in New York City.
