Alexis Carra              

American actress, dancer and choreographer

Alexis Carra has assisted and dance captained for Tony Award winning choreographers, Wayne Cilento and Andy Blankenbuehler, and has also assisted So You Think You Can Dances theatre hit choreographer, Joey Dowling.She has taught numerously throughout the United States.

Alexis is on staff at the American Musical and Dramatic Academy where she is choreographs and teaches as a part of their Dance Theatre program. Alexis can be seen dancing on screen in Julie Taymors Across the Universe where she worked with award-winning choreographer, Danny Ezralow.

Alexis Carra has been onstage since age 2. She has trained with Princeton Ballet, Boston Ballet, Nutmeg Ballet, and Alvin Ailey among others, and danced competitively for ten years. She received her BA in Theatre Studies from Yale University. At age 19, Alexis was offered a role in the 1st National tour of the Tony Award winning musical, Fosse, and took a semester off from Yale to go on the road. Alexis has worked extensively on and off Broadway and those credits include: Fame on 42nd Street, Wicked, Sweet Charity (Dance Captain) with Christina Applegate and The Pirate Queen. She has assisted major forces in choreography such as Wayne Cilento, Andy Blankenbuehler, and Joey Dowling.

Alexis' on camera choreography debut was on Discovery Channel this year, and was written up in The New York Times. She has always dreamed of originating and choreographing her own roles on stage and on screen, and always strives to work with creative, open artists who want to explore human nature and behavior.

Alexis performing and choreography led her to her regular Musical Theatre Jazz class at the famous Edge Performing Arts Center in Hollywood, CA. Her classes are dynamic, sweaty, fun, and also centered around technique and story telling.

She stars on the new ABC series Mixology.

ABC Family has a new name -- Freeform. One of the newest dramas to premiere on this network is “Recovery Road,” an intense series based on the young adult novel by Blake Nelson. This is a story that highlights addiction and alcoholism in young adults.
