Multi-media Executive, Financial Journalist, Entrepreneurship Expert

Alfred A. Edmond Jr. is an accomplished multi-media executive, award-winning business and financial journalist, entrepreneurship expert, and a dynamic public speaker and event moderator. Edmond holds the position of SVP & Executive Editor-at-Large of Black Enterprise, where he provides brand, marketing, and content leadership as part of the multimedia company’s senior management team.

Before his current role, Edmond served as SVP/Chief Content Officer, overseeing marketing for all major franchises of Black Enterprise, including the magazine, television shows, website, social media, and live networking events. He also managed content for the company’s broadcast and digital properties. From 2008 through 2010, he was SVP/Editor-in-chief of BlackEnterprise.com, steering the company’s shift from single-magazine publisher to a digital-first multimedia enterprise. From 1995 through 2008, Edmond was the chief editor of Black Enterprise magazine.

Edmond is a nationally recognized expert on business and economic trends, personal finance, leadership development, and mentorship. He is a sought-after public speaker and moderator, delivering keynotes on topics such as "Becoming Your Own Boss," "Secrets of Success & Wealth From The World’s Greatest Entrepreneurs," and "Relationship Excellence: The Hidden Secret of Business Success." Since 2011, he has hosted "Money Matters," a nationally syndicated radio feature of American Urban Radio Networks. He regularly appears on television and nationally syndicated radio, including as a commentator on PBS' "Nightly Business Report." Edmond is also a trusted mentor, adviser, and confidante to numerous successful professionals and entrepreneurs.

A highly respected social media enthusiast, Edmond maintains a large, active, and influential network across several social media platforms. He is a member and former board member of the American Society of Magazine Editors and the National Association of Black Journalists. Edmond currently serves on the editorial advisory board of the Rutgers Alumni Magazine and on the board of the Coach K Center on Leadership and Ethics at Duke University's Fuqua School of Business. He has also served as a judge for the American Society of Magazine Editors’ National Magazine Awards for over a decade, including several years as a judging leader.
