Alison A. Carr-Chellman, Ph.D. is the dean of school of education and health sciences at the University of Dayton. She is an instructional designer and author regarding effective instruction on learning, working on how to change and innovate within schools to make education work better for more kids. .

A former third-grade teacher, Ali Carr-Chellman realized that traditional elementary classrooms weren't for her, in part because she was frustrated by the lack of innovation, agility, and readiness to change in traditional schools. That led to her being a leader in instructional design.

She is the former dean at University of Idaho, and professor at Penn State. She received her doctorate from Indiana University, Bloomington.
