Alicia Garza is an organizer, activist, writer, and speaker working on the frontlines for black liberation. The strategy and partnerships director of the National Domestic Workers Alliance, she works to build a movement at the intersections of race, gender, and the economy. In 2018, Garza founded the Black Futures Lab, an organization dedicated to building political power in black communities. Previously, she co-founded the Black Lives Matter global network to end state violence against black people after the killing of Florida teen Trayvon Martin.

Garza’s writing has been featured in Time, Mic, Marie Claire, The Guardian, Essence, and The New York Times. Her numerous awards and honors include the 2017 Sydney Peace Prize. Garza is participating in the Aspen Ideas Festival as a 2019 Scholar. Garza is also one of TIME Magazine's 100 Most Influential People of 2020.
