Alicia Williamson Garcia

Christian Music Artist, Worship Studies Professor, Award-winning Vocalist

Alicia Williamson Garcia articulates the gospel of Jesus Christ through music and word, integrating her award-winning vocals with her capacity to convey God's truths, which makes her a favored choice for ministry and women's events. She emphasizes the critical role of the Word of God in worship, stating, "God has given us music to open the heart and His infallible Word to fill the heart and change a life. Worship, in its total essence, is a response to the truth, not a reaction to circumstances."

Born in Florence, S.C., Alicia began her musical involvement in her local church at the age of five. She made a significant personal commitment to her faith at the age of seven. Alicia pursued higher education at Winthrop University in Rock Hill, SC, earning a Bachelor of Arts in Vocal Performance. Subsequently, she continued her studies and gained a Master's Degree in Worship Studies with a concentration in Leadership from Liberty University. She joined the contemporary Christian group TRUTH after college, where she recorded her signature song, "There Is A Hope."

In 1993, Alicia launched her personal ministry, collaborating with various churches, ministries, and organizations to lead worship and teach. Her efforts in ministry have led her to work alongside notable figures like Kay Arthur, Beth Moore, and CeCe Winans. Today, she is a professor in Worship Studies at the University of Mobile, AL, and an adjunct instructor in Worship at Liberty University. In 2002, she co-founded IN Worship Ministries in Mobile, AL, with her husband Richard Garcia, focusing on offering Biblical gospel through music and teaching that transcends cultural and generational barriers.

Alicia has produced nine music projects, with her latest album "Glory Now" featuring three original songs. Additionally, she has authored two books, "Hold Nothing Back" and "A Seeking Heart," further extending her ministry's reach. Among her collaborations are partnerships with Precept Ministries, The Brooklyn Tabernacle, Dr. Tony Evans of the Urban Alternative, Women of Faith, The Billy Graham Evangelistic Association, and more.

Alicia's educational roles include teaching Old and New Testament Principles of Worship and Creative Worship at Liberty University, where she serves as a faculty member at the Center for Worship. She is also an Artist-in-Residence at the university and at Thomas Road Baptist Church.

Alicia resides with her husband Richard Garcia, and they are blessed with two sons, Michael Chandler and Richard David. Her ability to connect instantly with congregations through her warm and genuine approach to worship leadership has made her highly recommended for leading worship at church events and special occasions.
