Alison Lucas

Director of London, Fenton

Alison Lucas has 20 years of professional international communications experience with strong emphasis in branding and messaging, special events, campaigns and media strategy, in both the commercial and charitable sectors.

In 2004, before the issue of climate change became mainstream there were pockets of pioneering, but isolated companies, governments, cities and states working on the issue. A far sighted U.S. Foundation recognized this  and asked a trio of environmental campaigners including Lucas, to devise a business plan to engage these disparate groups and bring them together to share best practice and enable them to engage with each other and take action on climate change. The result: The Climate Group, which has since become an independent international nonprofit organization working with a global coalition of the world’s most powerful governments, brands and public figures across Asia, Europe and North America, pushing for the policies, technologies and investment needed to help create a new low-carbon economy.

Before The Climate Group, Lucas ran an environmental communications consultancy where she led projects for clients including World Wildlife Fund, United Nations Environment Programme, B&Q plc, The Goldman Environmental Awards and The Whitley Laing Awards. Prior to this she was director of communications for WWF’s International Forests for Life Campaign where she led an international team campaigning on forest issue and helped create the Forest Stewardship Council. Lucas has coordinated high level international events with individuals including several members of the British Royal Family including HM The Queen, HRH The Duke of Edinburgh and HRH Prince Charles, UK Prime Minister Tony Blair, Richard Branson, Arnold Swarzenegger, Mayor Bloomberg and Ban ki Moon. She won a National PR Week Award for delivering the best Broadcast Campaign achieving global media coverage, for her work on forest protection.

Alison lives on the Surrey/Hampshire border with her husband, son and daughter.
