Network PR vet Alison Rou recently exited her post as VP of Communications at ABC Studios to launch Anchor Media Strategy, a praisery focused on repping showrunners.

Rou saw an opening for a showrunner-centric shingle now that the hyphenates who run TV series are increasingly becoming boldface names, thanks to social media and heightened consumer media coverage of all things entertainment.

Rou’s initial client list at L.A.-based Anchor Media included Julie Plec (“The Vampire Diaries,” “The Originals”), Kerry Ehrin (“Bates Motel”), Erica Messer (“Criminal Minds”), Michele Fazekas and Tara Butters (“Resurrection”) John Lehr and Nancy Hower (Hulu’s “Quick Draw”), Ilene Chaiken (“Empire”) and drama vet Liz Tigelaar.

Anchor Media is also repping the ATX Television Festival in Austin, Texas, which will stage its fourth edition in June 2015.

Rou is a respected exec who was recently on her second tour of duty at ABC, where she was VP of communications. She also has held top PR posts at MTV and Alliance Atlantis.
