Professional Basketball Player for the Indiana Fever & Two-Time WNBA All-Star; #1 Draft Pick & 2023 WNBA Rookie of the Year
Aliyah Boston is a professional basketball power forward and center for the Indiana Fever in the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA). Boston's journey to the WNBA started in college, where she led the University of South Carolina to an NCAA championship in 2022 and was named the NCAA Tournament Most Outstanding Player. Her college career was also distinguished by awards such as the AP Player of the Year, Honda Sports Award, Honda-Broderick Cup, John R. Wooden Award, Naismith College Player of the Year, and USBWA National Player of the Year in 2022. She has also been a multi-year recipient of the Lisa Leslie Award as the best center in NCAA women's basketball.
After college, Boston was the first overall pick in the 2023 WNBA draft, selected by the Indiana Fever. Her rookie year was marked by success, winning the 2023 WNBA Rookie of the Year award and being selected as a WNBA All-Star in 2023 and 2024. She also holds a record in the Fever organization, being the single-season leader in rebounds in 2024. In addition to her WNBA career, Boston has represented the United States in international competitions, winning gold medals at events like the FIBA AmeriCup and FIBA U19 Women's World Cup.
Beyond her on-court accomplishments, Boston's academic achievements have also been recognized. She was the first sophomore ever to be named Academic All-American of the Year by the College Sports Information Directors of America in D-I women's basketball in 2021. She also broke the SEC record with her 20th consecutive double-double in 2022. Notably, Boston was named a starter for the 2023 WNBA All-Star Game and was selected to play in the inaugural 2025 season of Unrivaled, the women’s 3x3 basketball league.
