Professional Development Project Manager,Pittsburgh Public Schools

Allyce Pinchback is a native of Pittsburgh, PA. She is currently employed as a Professional Development Project Manager for Pittsburgh Public Schools, where she is responsible for building professional learning and support around the District’s Measures of Effective Teaching. Prior to this, Allyce spent three years as a Program Officer for the World Affairs Council of Pittsburgh, a non-profit, non-partisan organization that promotes the understanding of important international issues in the region. Allyce’s interest in world affairs began when the Council sent her to Japan as one of their first Global Travel Scholars in 2004 and she has traveled to several destinations in Asia and Europe since then.

Allyce serves on the Board of Directors of the Pittsburgh Urban Magnet Project (PUMP), the University of Pittsburgh African American Alumni Council, and the Rukmini Foundation, whose mission is to empower young Nepali girls through education. She is the Membership Lead for 85 Broads, an international global women’s networking organization and a member of the Urban League Young Professionals of Greater Pittsburgh.

Allyce is a mentor for Urban Pathways Charter School’s Women in Sync Everywhere (WISE) program, Amachi Pittsburgh and Be a 6th Grade Mentor at Pittsburgh King PreK-8. Allyce is a graduate of Coro Pittsburgh’s Women in Leadership and Leaders in Learning programs, and is a part of Coro Pittsburgh’s Alumni Council (CPAC).

Allyce graduated magna cum laude with a B.S. in Psychology and Japanese, and an Asian Studies Certificate from the University of Pittsburgh in 2009. She also spent a semester at Kansai Gaidai University in Osaka, Japan in Spring 2008.

Allyce received the Fab 40 award from the New Pittsburgh Courier in 2011 and was named the Female Emerging Leader of the Year by Get Involved!, Inc. in 2012.
