Alter Bridge is an American rock band

Alter Bridge is an American rock band that was formed in 2004 in Orlando, Florida by then-former Creed members, lead guitarist Mark Tremonti, bassist Brian Marshall, and drummer Scott Phillips, with lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist Myles Kennedy, formerly of The Mayfield Four and the current frontman of Slash's touring band. The band is named after an actual bridge that used to be located in Detroit, Michigan near Tremonti's home on Alter Road.

Alter Bridge's debut album, “One Day Remains,” was released on August 10, 2004 on Wind-up Records. Produced by Ben Grosse the album sold 750,000 copies worldwide and achieved gold status. It peaked at #5 on the Billboard charts for fourteen weeks.

In 2007, Alter Bridge announced that they had signed with Universal Republic. Alter Bridge's second album, “Blackbird,” featuring the successful singles "Rise Today" and "Watch Over You," was released on October 9, 2007. The album peaked at #13 on the Billboard 200, selling 47,000 copies in its first week and #4 on the Billboard Rock Album chart. To date, Blackbird has sold over 227,000 copies.

“AB III” was released in October 2010 on Roadrunner Records worldwide except North America, where it was self-released on Alter Bridge Recordings via Capitol Records. The first single, "Isolation," was released on September 26, 2010 in the United Kingdom and November 9, 2010 in the United States. "Isolation," reached #21 on the Nielsen DBS Active rock chart in the United States and is still rising. For the week of November 27, 2010, the album reached #17 on the Billboard 200
