Amanda Seales is a comedian, actress, writer, and producer renowned for her incisive humor and relatability when addressing critical issues such as racism, rape culture, sexism, and police brutality. With a master's degree in African American studies from Columbia University, she expertly blends intellectual insight with pop-culture commentary. Seales began her acting career on Nickelodeon's "My Brother and Me" and has since taken on significant roles, including the character Tiffany in the HBO series "Insecure" from 2017 to 2021. Her debut stand-up comedy special "I Be Knowin" was released on HBO in 2019, the same year she became a co-host on the syndicated daytime talk show "The Real" and the main host on NBC's "Bring the Funny."
In 2020, Seales launched "Smart Funny & Black," a touring comedy game show celebrating Black culture, history, and experience. She also hosted the BET Awards that year. In 2022, she appeared in the documentary series "Everything's Gonna Be All White" on Showtime and participated in the TV show "To Tell the Truth." Besides her television work, Seales has released several music EPs, including "Life Experience," "Spandex Rhymes & Soul," "Madame Monochrome," "Foreplay Mixtape," and "Technicolor Lover." She further expanded her reach in media by establishing Smart Funny & Black Entertainment to produce multi-cultural comedy content across various platforms.
On April 18, 2022, Seales began co-hosting "Amanda Seales’ Smart Funny & Black Radio" on SiriusXM. She is also the author of the best-selling book "Small Doses: Potent Truths for Everyday Use," released in 2019, and continues to host her weekly podcast "Small Doses." Recognized for her contributions to comedy and social justice, Seales has received multiple NAACP Image Awards, affirming her influence and dedication to enriching discussions around civil rights and social issues.
