Amanda Rivkin is an American photojournalist based in Istanbul, Turkey. Her work has been published in D Della Donna, The Financial Times, Foreign Policy, Le Monde, The London Sunday Times Magazine, Madame Figaro, The New York Times, The New York Times Magazine, T: The New York Times Style Magazine, Newsweek, Paris Match, TIME, and others.

She was the recipient of a Fulbright grant to Azerbaijan in 2011-2012, a National Geographic Young Explorers Grant to photograph life along the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan oil pipeline in Azerbaijan, Georgia and Turkey in 2010, and a McCloy Fellowship in Journalism from the American Council on Germany to report in Germany and Poland on the controversial Center Against Expulsions in 2007. In 2008-2009, Amanda was based in Chicago working with The New York Times as a primary client covering politics, the financial crisis and social issues in Chicago and regionally.

Her work has been included in the American Photography anthology, The Year in Pictures in The New York Times and Newsweek, as well as featured in Amateur Photographer, CNN, Freelens and WBEZ NPR Chicago. Her work has been exhibited in the United States, Spain and Syria. Amanda holds degrees from the Georgetown University Graduate School of Foreign Service, Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism and Sarah Lawrence College. She is fluent in English, Spanish, Portuguese and Polish and can get by in Azeri/Turkish, Catalan, Russian and Slovak. Currently Amanda is represented by the VII Photo Agency where she is in the VII Mentor Program working with Ron Haviv.
