Amaury Nolasco

Stars as ,?Sucre' on Fox's Prison Break, Transformers

Born on December 24, 1970 in Puerto Rico, Amaury Nolasco majored in Biology at the University of Puerto Rico. Nolasco had no concrete plans of pursuing an acting career, but he ended up moving to New York, where he studied at the American British Dramatic Arts School. His training was focused on Shakespearean drama, which gave him the opportunity to develop his dialect technique, character work and stage presence.

Nolasco garnered his first supporting role in a studio film as "Orange Julius" in Universal's hit sequel 2 Fast 2 Furious. He went on to co-star opposite Bernie Mac in Mr. 3000 and opposite Rob Schneider and David Spade in The Benchwarmers. Nolasco's other acting credits include guest-starring roles on television productions such as George Lopez, Eve, CSI, CSI: NY, The Huntress, Early Edition, ER and Arli$$, and on big screen pieces like Brother, Final Breakdown, The Librarians and the movie version of Transformers. In 2004, Nolasco was hailed as one of USA Today's 26 Guys to Watch, where he shared the pages with other celebrities like Justin Timberlake, Ashton Kutcher and Jake Gyllenhaal.

Currently, he portrays prisoner Fernando Sucre in the Fox series Prison Break. For the show's second season, the filming had to be moved from Chicago, Illinois to Dallas, Texas. There was, of course, a significant change in the weather, but Nolasco told TV Guide.com that since he is from Puerto Rico, he was confident that the hot Texas climate would not affect him. However, after temperatures hit 110-115 degrees, he realized he also had to learn to adjust like his co-stars. Still, on a separate interview with Zap2It.com, Nolasco claims that if he were to be imprisoned, he would rather live out his sentence in Florida, as he is not such a fan of the winter season.

In his spare time, Nolasco likes to play golf and tennis. He is residing in Los Angeles.
