Global Cancer Advocate, Founder of Susan G. Komen for the Cure & Former U.S. Ambassador

Nancy Brinker, a world-renowned health activist and the founder of Susan G. Komen for the Cure, is widely recognized for her tireless efforts in leading the global breast cancer movement. Her extensive list of accomplishments includes serving as the U.S. ambassador to Hungary from 2001 to 2003 and as White House Chief of Protocol from 2007 to 2009. In addition to these roles, Brinker has provided invaluable leadership as the Goodwill Ambassador for Cancer Control for the United Nations World Health Organization and as the founder of the Promise Fund of Florida.

Brinker's unwavering commitment to a world free of breast cancer has seen her engage every segment of society, from leaders to ordinary citizens, in the fight against this devastating disease. Her efforts were recognized in 2009 when President Barack Obama awarded her the Presidential Medal of Freedom, the nation's highest civilian honor. The same year saw her appointment as Goodwill Ambassador for Cancer Control for the United Nations' World Health Organization, cementing her commitment to prioritizing cancer control on the global health agenda.

In 2010, Brinker published her New York Times best-selling memoir, "Promise Me." As a public speaker, she has offered empowering and inspiring speeches on various topics, including leadership, innovation, and patient empowerment.

She was inducted into the National Women's Hall of Fame in 2015 and the Texas Women's Hall of Fame in 1988 for her contributions to women's health.
