NY Times Bestselling Author, Rules of Civility

Amor Towles is the author of the novel Rules of Civility, a New York Times, Boston Globe, Publisher's Weekly and Los Angeles Times bestseller, that was named one of the 10 Best Novels of 2011 by the Wall Street Journal. Set in Manhattan in 1938, it tells the story of a watershed year in the life of 25 year-old Katey Kontent, after a chance encounter that catapults her from the secretarial pool into the upper echelons of New York society. The New York Times Book Review wrote that "Towles resurrects the cinematic black-and-white Manhattan of the golden age of screwball comedy, gal-pal camaraderie and romantic mischief." Rules of Civility has sold in 17 countries and was awarded France's Prix Fitzgerald. Mr. Towles's fiction has appeared in The Paris Review. He is a principle in an investment firm in New York, where he lives with his wife and children.
