Amy DuBois Barnett is an American magazine editor and a prominent figure in the media industry. She formerly served as the editor-in-chief of Ebony magazine, where she led a substantial redesign that garnered the publication 28 awards from the National Association of Black Journalists. She has also been the editor-in-chief of Honey and Teen People magazines, and the Deputy Editor-in-Chief at Harper's Bazaar where she oversaw a digital relaunch. Barnett was the first African-American woman to helm a major mainstream magazine in the United States. In addition to her editorial roles, Barnett's fiction writing has earned accolades, with several of her short stories published. In 2008, she published an NAACP Image Award-nominated advice book for women titled "Get Yours! How to Have Everything You Ever Dreamed of and More".

Currently, Amy DuBois Barnett holds the position of Chief Content Officer at Outside Interactive, Inc., enhancing the digital media landscape through innovative content strategies. Her previous roles include significant leadership positions at ESPN, where she led the launch of the digital brand, The Undefeated, and at BET, where she played a crucial role in digital growth that resulted in a tenfold increase in operating income in 2021. Her extensive experience spans across major companies such as Time Inc, Hearst, Disney, ViacomCBS, and Entertainment Studios. She also held the role of EVP, Digital for Byron Allen’s Entertainment Studios, managing digital operations for theGrio, a leading digital media brand serving the African-American audience.

Amy DuBois Barnett has shaped her career through a blend of editorial brilliance and digital innovation, making significant impacts at every organization she has been part of.
