Amy Schumer is a multifaceted American artist noted for her work in stand-up comedy, acting, writing, producing, and directing.

On the cinematic front, Schumer made her film debut in a starring role in "Trainwreck" (2015), which led to a nomination for the Golden Globe Award for Best Actress - Motion Picture Comedy or Musical. She subsequently starred in the comedy films "Snatched" (2017) and "I Feel Pretty" (2019). She created, produced, and starred in the HBO documentary series "Expecting Amy," and the Hulu comedy-drama series "Life & Beth." Schumer also made her Broadway debut in Steve Martin's comedic play "Meteor Shower," earning a Tony Award nomination for Best Actress in a Play.

Schumer has earned two Grammy Award nominations for Best Comedy Album for "Amy Schumer: Live at the Apollo" and Best Spoken Word Album for narrating her memoir "The Girl with the Lower Back Tattoo."

Schumer has used her platform to address social issues, advocating for stricter gun control laws and increased mental health funding. She has also encouraged higher voter turnout and spread awareness about voter ID laws. Time magazine recognized Schumer's influence, naming her one of their 100 most influential people.

Schumer began her career in stand-up comedy, following her graduation from Towson University. Her rise to prominence came when she appeared as a contestant on the fifth season of the NBC reality competition series "Last Comic Standing." Schumer's comedic abilities were further displayed in her roles as creator, co-producer, co-writer, and star of the Comedy Central sketch comedy series "Inside Amy Schumer."
