Amy Sohn

Bestselling Author Amy Sohn has skillfully captured the zeitgeist of a whole generation of women in her novels.

Ms. Sohn is also a contributing editor at New York magazine, where she writes the Naked City column.According to The New York Times, "A little-known event that took place around the time that Richard M. Nixon was resigning as President was the birth of Amy Sohn, who has emerged as a representative of her generation… There is something about her career so far that suggests a mini-Zeitgeist, and Run Catch Kiss is a good emblem of it."

Ms. Sohn’s initiation into the Manhattan media world was her autobiographical Female Trouble column in New York Press, which elicited loads of invective from readers and shamed her parents at cocktail parties. She has also written for The Nation, Harper's Bazaar, Premiere, Men's Journal, Glamour, and Playboy.

As a pundit on subjects ranging from Catherine Zeta-Jones' litigiousness to Lenny Kravitz's sex appeal, Ms. Sohn appears frequently on VH1. She has also been on MTV, CNN, MSNBC, WNBC, NBC, Fox News and was also the subject of a documentary called Inventing Yourself on PBS. She co-created, wrote and starred in the animated series, Avenue Amy, which was produced by Curious Pictures and aired on Oxygen for two seasons. Ms. Sohn lives in Brooklyn.
