Peabody and duPont-Columbia award–winning journalist Andrea Bernstein is Co-Host of the "Trump, Inc." Podcast, a co-production with ProPublica, and most recently co-hosted "Will Be Wild," an eight-part audio-documentary about the January 6 Capitol riot. She is the New York Times bestselling author of "American Oligarchs: The Kushners, the Trumps, and the Marriage of Money and Power."
Bernstein covers the business of the Trump administration, and, with her colleague Ilya Marritz, has broken key stories, including those on how Donald Trump, Jr., and Ivanka Trump avoided criminal indictment, Paul Manafort's money-laundering, Michael Cohen's fraudulent business practices, and Rudy Giuliani’s dealings in Ukraine. Additionally, Bernstein contributes reporting to NPR on Trump legal matters and is a frequent guest on PBS NewsHour. Her investigative reporting portfolio also includes significant contributions to The New Yorker, The Atlantic, The Guardian, The New York Review of Books, and New York Magazine.
Bernstein has garnered over 50 awards for her work, including the duPont-Columbia Award, the George Foster Peabody Award, and the Investigative Reporters and Editors award for radio. She was one of 12 US journalists to win a prestigious year-long 2007 Knight Fellowship at Stanford University. Her roles as an educator include serving as the Jack Newfield Professor of Investigative Journalism at Hunter College and teaching at City College of New York. Bernstein has also led journalist trainings, notably traveling to Bhutan in 2008 to teach journalists how to cover political campaigns as the nation transitioned from monarchy to democracy. Her dedication to mentoring young journalists is among her proudest accomplishments.
She graduated from Yale University, cum laude, with honors and currently resides in Brooklyn with her family.
