Andrea Ponce  

Entrepreneurship Research Scholar,Carnegie Mellon University

Andrea is the Entrepreneurship Research Scholar for Project Olympus and the Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship at Carnegie Mellon University. Her research focuses on ways to encourage innovation to accelerate the commercialization of cutting-edge research and ideas at Carnegie Mellon University. Prior to joining Project Olympus and the Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship, Andrea worked for the Carnegie Mellon University Advancement Division where she created the exclusive Andrew Carnegie Society’s Leadership program to grow leadership annual giving at CMU.

Andrea graduated from Mount Holyoke College with a major in Economics and a minor in Political Science, and is the recipient of a full scholarship and the Leadership and Service Award. Andrea is originally from Guatemala City; she is bilingual and proficient in both Spanish and English. Her research interest include the impact of immigration policy in innovation and entrepreneurship in the US and the economic impact of women entrepreneurs.
