Andreas Knabe  

Assistant Professor of Labor Market and Social Policy at the Free University Berlin. Author of, "Measuring Happiness: The Economics of Well-being."

Andreas Knabe is Juniorprofessor (Assistant Professor) of Labor Market and Social Policy at the Free University Berlin and a Research Affiliate of CESifo Munich. He has studied economics at the Otto-von-Guericke-University Magdeburg and the University of Kentucky. His research is focused on both theoretical and empirical labor economics.

In his theoretical research, he analyzes the modeling of labor market policies in imperfectly competitive labor markets (wage subsidies, collective bargaining, minimum wages). His empirical research is mainly in the area of “happiness economics”, focusing on the impact of labor market experiences on various dimensions of subjective well-being. His research has been published in, inter alia, the Economic Journal, Labour Economics, Economica, Economics Letters, Applied Economics and Kyklos.
