Andrew Blum is an American journalist and author. He wrote 2012's "Tubes: A Journey to the Center of the Internet," as well as 2019's "The Weather Machine: A Journey Inside the Forecast." "Tubes" offers a unique perspective on technology, showing readers the inner physical workings of the Internet. "The Weather Machine" explores how forecasting came to be more of a science than a guessing game and tells readers of the importance of understanding the weather in an era of climate change.

Blum's work has been published in Newsweek, The New York Times, The New Yorker, The Wall Street Journal, BusinessWeek and Slate, among others.

Blum holds a degree in literature from Amherst College and a degree in human geography from the University of Toronto.
